All The Biggest TV Show Reveals From Netflix’s TUDUM Event

TUDUM, Netflix’s annual celebration of its biggest and buzziest properties, took place on May 31st, 2025. The “global fan event” was hosted this year by The Life List’s Sofia Carson and showcased popular Netflix shows and films, as well as those that are slated to make their streaming debut. This is the first time that TUDUM was exclusively shown live on Netflix to an international audience – plus the loudly enthusiastic one at Los Angeles’s Kia Forum – and it went off without a hitch.

Here are the most exciting announcements about Netflix’s TV shows from TUDUM 2025. After a two-hour program that featured celebrity appearances, trailers, teasers, new castings, and release date confirmations, we emerged with long-awaited updates from the worlds of Squid Game, One Piece, Wednesday, and Stranger Things.

ONE PIECE Season 2 Highlights Tony Tony Chopper Casting

Everyone’s Favorite Reindeer Makes Live-Action Debut

Netflix’s live-action adaption of “the world’s biggest manga” ONE PIECE announced a much-speculated-upon casting – the person set to bring fan-favorite character Tony Tony Chopper to live-action life. Now we know who will be behind Chopper: Superman actor Mikaela Hoover – and we even got to watch Chopper in “action.”

Onstage, ONE PIECE’s cast said that more than a hundred million fans have watched the live-action adaptation’s first season, and teased that everything will be on an even bigger scale for season 2. But as Iñaki Godoy (Luffy) put it, the pirate crew itself will get “a little bigger” in season 2. This was the sign to play the video introducing Chopper – “the reindeer you always wanted,” Godoy went on. Here’s our detailed run-down on the Chopper casting, plus our anime experts on how the Netflix live-action Chopper compares to the anime version.

SQUID GAME Season 3 Full Trailer Suggests Terrifying New Games In Store

Giant Doll Will Also Continue To Terrify Me Personally

It’s now confirmed that Squid Game’s third season will debut on Netflix on June 27, 2025, and in the season 3 trailer shown at TUDUM, we seem to see a new version of the infamous “Red Light, Green Light” game.

The setup going into season 3 looks unsparingly brutal – but don’t take our word for it. Watch the trailer and then read our analysis of what we think it means for Squid Game’s fast-approaching new season. Also, here’s our take on why Gi-hun’s Squid Game replacement now makes perfect sense.

STRANGER THINGS Season 5 Reveals Multiple Air Dates

We’re In For A Full Holiday Cycle In The Upside Down

The wait for news about when we’ll get to watch the fifth (and final) season of Netflix’s megahit series Stranger Things is over. We have official confirmation on season 5’s arrival – and there are three dates to circle on your calendar. Four episodes will air on November 26th, 2025, three episodes will air on Christmas 2025, and the series finale will be shown on New Year’s Eve. Here’s our look at Netflix’s date announcement video, plus the official season 5 synopsis. And here’s why we think Netflix decided on a three-part split.

Even portioned out over time, it’s clear that Netflix is planning to make Stranger Things’ swan song the event of the fall/winter season. To quote Emily in Paris (erm, make that “Emily in Rome”) star Lily Collins on Stranger Things at TUDUM, the show’s final season will be “like Empire State Building huge.”

WEDNESDAY Shows The First 6 Minutes of Season 2 – And Celebrates Major Casting With Lady Gaga Performance

Netflix’s massively popular series Wednesday, featuring Jenna Ortega as the titular Addams Family daughter, closed out the night with the most footage shown and a showstopper of a performance. Netflix treated TUDUM viewers to the first six minutes from season 2, which will debut on August 6, 2025.

We got a look at Ortega’s Wednesday in detective mode (complete with a Sherlock Holmes-style Inverness cape), as she pursues a serial killer. The killer is revealed to be played by none other than The Sixth Sense’s Haley Joel Osment in full-on creepy mode.

Lady Gaga’s role in Wednesday’s upcoming season was also confirmed – let us explain. The pop superstar turned the end of TUDUM into a spectacular Addams-themed concert, performing a medley of her hits while backed by dancers costumed as Wednesday and other characters from the show. Though Ortega was present onstage, she hilariously refused to do her iconic dance.

Since broadcast’s end, Netflix has also added a breakdown of the Easter eggs in Wednesday’s sneak peek, featuring Wednesday creators and showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough.
