Fast & Furious 11 Is At Risk Of Making A Huge Mistake After Fast X’s Cliffhanger Ending

I’m concerned that Fast & Furious 11 won’t properly resolve Fast X’s intense cliffhanger ending. When I initially left the theater after watching Fast X, I was shocked by how much I liked the tenth entry in the long-running series, and was incredibly excited about the eleventh movie. However, as time has gone by, I’ve grown increasingly more worried about Fast & Furious 11. Since the eleventh film has faced many production delays, I’m now more certain than ever that it won’t be able to properly continue the story that was set up at the end of Fast X.

At the end of Fast X, the film’s main villain, Dante Reyes, actually comes out on top against Dom and his crew. He may have failed to kill Dom and his son, Little B, but he seemingly succeeded in causing a plane carrying characters like Roman, Tej, Ramsey, and Han to crash. However, there is still hope for Dom since major characters like Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs and Gal Gadot’s Gisele Yashar return at the end of Fast X. Despite these exciting returns, I’m worried about Fast & Furious 11 since it will probably have to include a time jump.

Fast & Furious 11’s Extended Gap From Fast X Increases The Chance It Will Have A Time Jump

Fast & Furious 11 Still Hasn’t Started Filming

Even though Dom and Little B survive the dam explosion during the climax of Fast X, they are immediately forced to watch Roman, Tej, Ramsey, and Han’s plane go down. Because of this, Dom is arguably at his most hopeless point in the entire franchise in the final moments of the tenth movie. However, this cliffhanger likely won’t be properly resolved since the beginning of Fast & Furious 11 will probably include a time jump. A time jump will probably be necessary since the actor who plays Little B, Leo Abelo Perry, will be visibly older and much taller.

Since it has probably been at least three years since Perry filmed the dam explosion scene, he definitely will not look the same in Fast & Furious 11, which means the film will have to jump ahead in time to account for this.

Since it has been two years since the release of Fast X and the eleventh movie has not even started filming yet, there’s a chance that Little B will be completely unrecognizable in the film. This is a common problem for movie series and television shows that include young actors in major roles. Since it has probably been at least three years since Perry filmed the dam explosion scene, he definitely will not look the same in Fast & Furious 11, which means the movie will have to jump ahead in time to account for this.

Fast 11 Having A Time Jump Means It Will Probably Skip Over Fast X’s Cliffhanger Ending

Fast & Furious 11 May Retroactively Make Fast X’s Ending Worse

Based on the ending of the previous movie, it would make the most sense for Fast & Furious 11 to pick up just minutes later. This would allow the movie to properly explain how Dom and Little B continue to survive Dante’s attacks, and how Roman, Tej, Ramsey, and Han survive the plane crash. However, since Little B was a major character in the final action sequence in Fast X, the fact that Perry has aged a lot in between the two films will probably make this impossible.

It’ll Break My Heart, But I Really Hope Fast & Furious 11 Doesn’t Let Everyone Survive

While Fast & Furious is used to happy endings, the final movie needs to kill off some important characters despite how heartbreaking it will be.

Because of this, I wouldn’t be surprised if Fast & Furious 11 included a significant time jump and just used exposition to explain how all the characters survived. This would be extremely disappointing, since Fast X undoubtedly has the biggest (and most exciting) cliffhanger of the entire franchise. Since Fast & Furious 11 has taken so long to enter production, a lot of my excitement for the film, which is meant to conclude the franchise, has gone away.

Fast 11 Not Resolving Fast X’s Cliffhanger Directly Would Be A Huge Mistake

Fast & Furious 11 Needs To Overcome This Major Problem

If Fast & Furious 11 does include a time jump, this will disappoint many viewers since they will be expecting the movie to resolve the cliffhanger. It will also feel like a cop out to have so many important characters seemingly die in Fast X and then not show how they survive. Overall, this major issue makes it clear that there wasn’t a proper plan in place after the release of Fast X, which is disappointing. Therefore, I’m concerned that Fast & Furious 11 has no choice but to include a time jump, which would be a huge mistake.
